I got this weird part-time/temporary/independent contractor gig that I’m sure is about finding this particular solution for the company at the same time keeping me distant for possible denial – almost like a spy thing. The ad in Craigslist went like this “Are you comfortable not moving? Is your eyesight keen? We may have the perfect job for you!” I am pretty good about not moving – sedentary should be my middle name. As for the eyesight thing, I don’t know, I’ve never been tested. I am quite competitive and would only settle for the highest grade. Since I’m not sure if I could achieve this at the optometrist I’ve decided on a truce with my eyes – I won’t test them as long as they don’t test me.

For the job I had to sit in my car outside of this large building with four entrances, one on each side of the building from 9 to 5 and write down how many people entered and exited the building. The problem is, with the four entrances, how was I to keep an eye on them all? The ad specified “sedentary” so I took that to mean I should sit still and be like a tree.
